Adult Education Budget

The Government has committed to devolve the Adult Education Budget (AEB) in Liverpool City Region to the Combined Authority from the academic year 2019/20. This means that for the first time, the City Region will have the opportunity to tailor the skills and adult education system to better address local priorities. North West Community Services Training have been successful in securing funding to run AEB provision from August 2019.

Benefits of these local flexibilities:

  • Certificates/Diplomas can be completed in 6x months
  • No Off the Job requirements
  • No co-contribution requirement for eligible learner

  • English & Maths qualifications

  • Health & Social Care L2 Diploma

  • Health & Social Care L3 Diploma

  • Childcare L2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce

All courses listed are available to individuals aged 19+ and living in the Liverpool City Region. All courses are distance learning and are funded by the Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor under the Adult Education Budget.

Childcare Level 2 Certificates

  • Caring for Children and Young People
  • Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses
  • Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health

Age restrictions

Level 2 – Learners must be 19+ and earn under £18,135

Level 3 –  Learners must be between 19-23 and earn under £18,135

English & Maths – Learners must be 19+ and no salary restriction applies

Cache Certificates – Learners must be 19+ and no salary restriction applies

Post Code eligibility

Eligible learners will reside in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.
