Supporting employers who are new to the apprenticeship service

In spring 2017 the way the government funds apprenticeships in England changed, to help fund employer apprenticeship schemes. The Levy will be introduced at a rate of 0.5% of an employers payroll.

All employers will receive an allowance of £15,000 to offset against payment of the levy, which effectively means that the apprenticeship levy will only be payable if your payroll is over £3 million each year.

How it will af​fect your business

From 1st April 2021 all new apprenticeships will be managed and funded using the apprenticeship service. All employers hiring apprentices will need to have an apprenticeship service account.
Employers are required to take action to enable NWCS Training Ltd to manage actions on their behalf. We’ve outlined these touchpoints in a map of the training-provider led apprenticeship service journey. Employers please review this detail contained within the link:
